I plan on watching all of the Lynch short films I can find, probably in three chronological installments as a compendium to my David Lynch Director Focus. Starting with days reviews covering the work from 1967-1974. A living painting soundtracked by sirens and other bleeps and bloops. Blasts of color, flashes. Gotta fill them hole sacks, boys! A sudden burst of purple accompanying the vomit. Repeats guess how many times? The repetition seems key, makes it work, as you can pick up on different things each time, like the word “SICK” flashing (didn’t catch that until pass #5). Quite the beginning!

Six Men Getting Sick (Six Times) (sometimes known as Six Figures Getting Sick) is a 1967 experimental animated short film, directed by David Lynch. A student project that was developed over the course of a semester, it is Lynch's first film and was shot while he was attending the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The film consists of an animated painting, depicting six dysmorphic figures regurgitating in sequence with the sound of a siren loop. It was released on January 1, 1967.
