🎙️ EPISODE 173: 03.15.19 There’s something about Spike Lee films, especially when he’s operating in a more POP style, that doesn’t quite work for me. They’re just too cute or something, I don’t know, can’t put my finger on it. (And I realize calling a movie with such serious and important messages “cute” is probably offensive. But maybe it’s the juxtaposition of those things that I’m not totally getting. I want to like these movies more than I do, and I — obviously — need to do a Spike Lee director focus and give all the movies a chance/second chance.)
