If I may, try pairing this with Everything Is Terrible! Presents: The Great Satan (2017) for a terrific double feature that fully unpacks the moral/cultural quandary that was the satanic panic of the 1980s, the echoes of which we can still hear/feel in society today. (And I haven’t seen it yet, but there is a 2019 comedy called Satanic Panic that, while wholly unrelated or so it seems, might function well as a palette cleanser for your movie marathon TRIPLE feature, if thou art so brave.) |
All kidding aside, this is a really well done, effective and informative doc on an interesting subject. I’m not a member, nor do I have any desire to be affiliated with The Satanic Temple mostly (because it seems like a lot of work to buy a whole new wardrobe and/or adopting a goth aesthetic at this point in my life), but I 110% support those weirdos and genuinely appreciate the work they’re doing and the real life causes that may seem only tangentially impacted by the so-called stunts they’re trying to pull.
