🎙️ EPISODE 447: 04.18.22 The Gods of TRUE RANDOM bringeth, and they taketh away. This one wasn't for me, folks. That happens sometimes. The reality is I don't wanna be shitting on a movie that tries it's best to parse the brutal and endlessly unfair pain that is enduring early onset Alzheimer's. I could shit on A Moment to Remember for a number of things (its melodrama, its melodrama on steroids soundtrack, its weird 50s-ish relationship norms, etc.) but at the end of the day, it's so much simpler to just call it a 5, throw in the towel, wave the white flag, and go on with my day. This 'type' of film is the ultimate downside of the TRUE RANDOM project/ethos. Sometimes, there's not gonna be anything good to talk about. And that's alright.

It stars Son Ye-jin and Jung Woo-sung and follows the theme of discovery in a relationship and the burdens of loss caused by Alzheimer's disease. It was released on November 5, 2004.
