🎙️ EPISODE 594: 11.09.22 This is really good. The definitive doc on the Elm Street franchise and that's clear from the get-go. At four hours long, you better know what you're getting into, but if you're a fan of the series, you'll soak up every minute. It's a movie-by-movie 'making of' feature done by a team who clearly love the genre, this story and these characters. Sure, there are some notable missing interviews — Patricia Arquette and Johnny Depp, for example — but it's more than made up for with the immensely thorough and thoughtful contributions from Wes Craven, all the other directors, and a ton of behind-the-scenes guys who have a lot of fantastic things to share. I really enjoyed it.

The documentary also explores the rise of New Line Cinema. Written by Thommy Hutson, produced by Daniel Farrands and Thommy Hutson, and co-directed by Daniel Farrands and Andrew Kasch. Heather Langenkamp, who portrayed Nancy Thompson in three of the Nightmare films, served as the project's executive producer and narrator. As of February 2019, the documentary has grossed over $400k from video sales. It was released on May 4, 2010.
