🎙️ EPISODE 689: 04.10.23 The movie begins with a low angle shot of a toilet. Humble beginnings for the master, one might say. Close-ups of bathroom fixtures, toiletries follow before we see a tired man start — you guessed — shaving. It's soundtracked by crooner Bunny Berigan's "I Can't Get Started." At the 3-minute mark of this 5½ minute short he starts cutting up his face real bad like. The blood looks fake and stupid. Then he clean slits his throat before putting the razor gently into the sink. The credits pop up on a red screen. What's it all mean, you ask? Well my cinematic expertise leads me to believe that it means Scorsese gets better at making movies at some point. Thanks for checking out my website.
