On a Magical Night

MOVIE #1,275 • 🍿🍿🍿🍿 • 12.12.23 This is terribly silly. But I kind of appreciate treating these serious ideas — infidelity, aging, happiness — with such whimsy. I am fine with the goofy premise, which is pure fantasy, and it definitely could have worked if the film had more to say. But it never comes close to eclipsing the ‘anything goes’ logic of structure with a sentiment we can latch onto (beyond “ah, life… it's pretty crazy, right?”). It really lives up to the very bad and boring English name it was retitled to. Something’s missing in this mess of too much.
