MOVIE #1,334 • 🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿 • 01.30.24 Saw this one in 3-D and I felt like it really worked for the medium: all the ducks soaring through the air just looked cool. Like any Illumination picture, this is pure ‘turn your brain off’ garbage, which — as I’ve stated before — I actually appreciate. There’s probably more of a theme here than anything in the Minions franchise, but it still packs a good punch of silliness. (It’s also of note that a short featuring the villain from the first Despicable Me played beforehand, clearly trying to establish that Illumination ‘brand’ even more.) Oh, I just noticed Mike White wrote the screenplay. Interesting. Forgettable but certainly not terrible. 7/10 |
