Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem

MOVIE #1,338 • 🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿 • 01.31.24
My son fell asleep almost instantly during this, which is really not an indictment of the film. He was just super tired that day. It was just the two of us, so I had the odd experience of essentially sitting through this one by myself. And I thought it was pretty good. Co-written by Seth Rogen (who also voices Bebop, a fave of mine), there was clearly a love here for the franchise and its many non-turtle characters and the movie actually goes super deep in showcasing some mutants that I myself— once a TMNT cartoon and toy fanatic — didn’t even recognize (it’s right there in the title, folks). And like the Spider-Verse movies, they’re at least trying to do something original with the animation. I’m done writing kids movie reviews for a while, hopefully. 7/10
