 | MOVIE #1,551 • 🍿🍿 • 04.17.24 Watching this for my Wiseman D.F. as he is one of the eight directors credited (alongside Milos Forman, Paul Morrissey and others) on this experimental short (the backstory: “At the 1971 International Film Festival of Belgrade, Yugoslav director Karpo Acimovic-Godina instructed seven other directors to shoot less than three minutes of film footage inside a bedroom with static shots that contained the phrase "I Miss Sonja Henie". This film is the result”). So at least we know which one to blame! (Karpo!) I usually give the benefit of the doubt to even the most obnoxious crap dripping with artsy pretense but this was too much for even me. Truly one of the most pointless exercises. It really tests your patience in under twenty minutes. Also, Wiseman seems like the least likely and worst possible candidate for a project like this, doesn’t he? A head-scratcher for sure. |
