宮崎駿監督のフォーカス

It’s cartoon time! This is immediately more interesting and serious than the first one. Where that felt like a movie-length kids show, this feels like real anime (as far as I can tell, anyway). I loved the look and the music — this marks the first collaboration with composer Joe Hisaishi, who has scored nearly all of Miyazaki’s pictures to date. I broke the rule I established last time that I would be watching these all with English dubs (I watched the original Japanese version). Maybe I’ll just mix it up movie to movie — I thought it would be a bigger deal, but I’m not sure it changes the experiences as much as one might expect. (I am a little bummed I missed Shia LaBeouf in the '05 Disney dub, though.)

Now let’s talk about upskirt.

She's supposedly wearing pants that are unfortunately a very similar colour to her skin, and she's not wearing a dress but a coat that looks like one. —The Internet
I’m sorry but that is hilarious. They just happened to make her “pants” skin color, and we just happened to see the full outline of her ass cheeks on said pants? Man, I think ya gotta own the random horniness and take the L (or the W — I’m not here to judge)

Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind (Japanese: 風の谷のナウシカ, Hepburn: Kaze no Tani no Naushika) is a 1984 Japanese animated post-apocalyptic fantasy film written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki, based on his 1982–94 manga series of the same name. The film stars the voices of Sumi Shimamoto, Gorō Naya, Yōji Matsuda, Yoshiko Sakakibara and Iemasa Kayumi. Set in a post-nuclear futuristic world, it tells the story of Nausicaä (Shimamoto), the teenage princess of the Valley of the Wind who becomes embroiled in a struggle with Tolmekia, a kingdom that tries to use an ancient weapon to eradicate a jungle full of giant mutant insects. It was released on March 11, 1984.
