 | MOVIE #1,695 • 🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿 • 06.04.24 We're nearing the end of this journey and it's been a very rewarding one. I've been struck by how varied all the Lynch shorts are, constantly surprising. We’re getting into the part of the chronological shorts filmography that lines up with his reinvigorated online presence in the middle of COVID. Lynch brought back his daily weather reports and started posting other, consistent content on his YouTube channel, David Lynch Theater. Some of this material was serialized ‘shows’ (like the “number of the day” vids), some of it was brand new original short film work and some of it was archival movies getting their first official (web) release. The latter is the case for The 3 R’s which was used as a trailer for the Vienna International Film Festival. It's a surreal micro-movie (under two minutes) about a man named Pete and his rocks. It's good. |
