It’s a very understated doc: 82 minutes of a single interview with its lone subject, ex-LAPD cop turned controversial author Michael Ruppert, as he goes off on a number of topics like the 2008 economic crisis, oil & sustainability and various threads that intertwine. It's really all about his ideas, and not the character study one might expect from a profile like this. He’s considered a quack by some but I thought he was pretty lucid and compelling, and kudos to Smith for questioning his notions without belittling him. As a film, it’s really well-edited and paced with plenty of archival footage used as a backdrop to what’s more or less a soliloquy. It features a great soundtrack as well. Highly recommend it! I hadn’t heard of him before, but I guess you could say I’m Ruppert-pilled now, folks. (He sadly committed suicide in 2014.)
