It’s one of the big questions in cinema today: will we get another Lynch project before, you know, he’s 78 years old and all. I genuinely believe that we will see on more movie (or show) before it’s all said and done, but in the meantime, I highly recommend his web series, “What is David Working on Today?” which was another pandemic-era YouTube highlight. (I chose not to include his weather reports and/or “number of the day” segments on this site as they register in the 100s and are more or less static exercises in endurance, as much as anything else.) On this self-explanatory show, David would highlight a project he was currently tinkering with, these include — in order: a wood sink, a urinal, a checking stick, a microphone stand, a litho signing, a phone holder, pants repair, paint drawers, varnishing, a mirror, the jar, balls,a dowel, a sculpture and a wall sconce. Each episode is under five minutes long and, all toll, it’s one of my personal favorite things he posted in his barrage of online activity circa 2020. |
