I thought this was gonna be more like a ‘making of’ about the experience of David Byrne organizing this special concert (which paired pop and rock acts with the color guard troops from around the country) but it's actually a very well put-together concert film of the fina event. The whole thing is very cinematic and there is ‘extra’ footage (dancers in an empty gym, a guy sprinting down an empty street with a flag, etc), some documentary coverage of the conception/origin, a look behind-the-scenes of that night in Brooklyn, and a cheesy news reporter doing tongue-and-cheek interviews and announcing, all of which pepper the proceedings successfully. Ira Glass is there too. It's not Stop Making Sense (none of the songs stood out, frankly) but it's still very entertaining.
