Haunted Lighthouse

MOVIE #1,905 • 🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿 • 08.18.24

This short film starring Christopher Lloyd was part of a short-lived immersive attraction at various U.S. theme parks including SeaWorld San Diego, SeaWorld San Antonio, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay and Busch Gardens Williamsburg. It was the first and only time Dante and Lloyd worked together, though it feels like their paths should've crossed more.

You're not gonna believe this but it doesn't really transfer well to super low resolution, watermarked YouTube clip, especially considering it…
was shot in 3D using a 5 perforation/70mm format. The effects in the show include water/air jets and seats wired with special effects (buzzers), remote speakers, and other tactile elements. The ending features water cannons mounted under the screen which soak many people in the theater.
So it's kind of impossible to critique this fairly. I'm sure this would have scared me half to death as a child, though...

Lea Thompson and Michael McKean co-star in small parts and there's even a Weird Al cameo as a stuttering waiter. This attraction has long since shuttered so we'll never truly be able to experience it :(
