SERIES: KENNETH ANGER DIRECTOR FOCUS
On the one hand, I give Kenneth Anger a lot of credit for spontaneously returning after decades of inactivity, on the other hand, most (all? I still have several more to go) seem to range from middling to why does this exist? This unfortunately swerves toward the latter ground. It’s just… static video of Aleister Crowley’s goofy, mostly bad paintings? I cheered whenever the camera panned or zoomed because that at least broke up the monotony. The title is cheeky (“hang” as “in a gallery,” like this trash deserves it!). I’m really struggling here.
