David Robert Mitchell is one of the most intriguing (newish) filmmakers working today. He only has three features under his belt thus far, and has significantly one-upped himself with each entry; making a 'ranking' somewhat moot, but I did do a fairly deep dive on all three (note: I combined my review of the first two): the early, suprisingly earnest debut The Myth of the American Sleepover (2010), the instant horror classic It Follows (2014), and what quickly became one of my all-time favorite films, the masterful Under the Silver Lake (2018). So that's the order: 3-2-1. Pretty straight-forward. Next up is a superhero movie (apparently), which as someone who normally loathes the genre, all I can say to that is YES.
