Greta Gerwig sprung out of the gate with the excellent Lady Bird, which I gave a perfect 10/10 (but also a rather flippant, brief critique). In other words: that's a movie I need to rewatch. Because I didn't care for her two subsequent pictures much at all. That she quickly transitioned from the original, indie spirit of Lady Bird to the almost comically and increasingly large I.P.-drive affairs of Little Women and Barbie strikes me as a bit of a bummer. I don't think it's fully impossible to create good art within in those spheres but it's certainly tricky and, well, the proof is in the pudding (thus far, at least). This was the easiest ranking I think I've ever done...
BAD:
3. Barbie
2. Little Women
GOOD:
1. Lady Bird
