MOVIE #1,121 • 🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿 • 08.23.23 Nearly 40 years before 8mm, English director Michael Powell did the unthinkable: he made a movie about snuff films that’s actually good! Not much to say about this one — a film that Martin Scorsese cited alongside 8½ as pictures that say everything that can be said about filmmaking — that hasn’t been said before. It’s visually creative and stunning in moments, and pretty much engaging throughout. I liked it! |

Peeping Tom is a 1960 British psychological horror-thriller film directed by Michael Powell, written by Leo Marks, and starring Carl Boehm, Anna Massey, and Moira Shearer. The film revolves around a serial killer who murders women while using a portable film camera to record their dying expressions of terror, putting his footage together into a snuff film used for his own self pleasure.
