🎙️ EPISODE 479: 06.01.22

Look, I am far from a perfect person. I'm super not happy with the audio review for this film. I got stuck on the (perceived??) cultural significance re the very idea of this movie succeeding on the critical level which it has. It does feel like on some levels this movie is 'critic-proof' but it also feels like pointing that out is bad as well. It's complicated? I just wish I had focused more on the actual movie in my review, which — especially in moments — is stunning and beautiful and near-perfect. Taking issue with the overall easiness in which it evokes emotion or whether or not the narrative is pandering (etc etc) is still valid in my eyes; I just did a very SHITTY job of dissecting it. Yes I have been sick IRL, but there are no excuses here at MovieJeff.com. I goofed. I dropped the ball.
