🎙️ EPISODE 541: 08.26.22 SPOILER ALERT. I thought this was gonna be way more sci-fi based on the trailer (like they were gonna be transplanting consciousness into the these girls' bodies, or maybe some child bride situation). But the end result (they just want their skin) actually works better given the grimy aesthetic. However, if they are just harvesting skin then the whole femininity charm school thing is sorta rendered meaningless, no? I understand it from a thematic POV, but it doesn't jive pragmatically. All that being said, I quite enjoyed the movie overall. It has a nice DIY feel and, plot holes aside, it flows nicely. Definitely didn't quite know how to end it, but having the main girl gash her precious, expensive face was a nice climax.

Level 16 is a 2018 science fiction horror by filmmaker Danishka Esterhazy. It follows a group of girls who live at a "school" which educates them about how to be perfect young women for families that they are told will eventually adopt them. Two girls work together to uncover the truth about their captivity. The plot and overall premise of the film shows many similarities to the 2005 film The Island and Kazuo Ishiguro's 2005 novel Never Let Me Go.It was released on February 20, 2018.
