🎙️ EPISODE 667: 03.17.23

I'd like to talk a little bit about anti-squirrel discrimination. And yes, I was inspired by this movie to do so. There's too much of it (anti-squirrel discrimination) and I, frankly, would like it to stop. If you're the type of person who says squirrels shouldn't write movie reviews, well then I'd appreciate it if you simply UNFOLLOW this web presence posthaste. For even I as a squirrel can appreciate the simple fact that an "ableist-bodied" man such as DDL should not, under any circumstances, play a human person suffering from a nasty case of carpal tunnel let alone cerebral palsy, whilst simultaneously holding true to the notion that — in fact — it's fine, it's all fine and it's always been all fine. Watching the man mug, such as he does —

— is bad? But why is it bad ? This is an important question and I don't really know the answer. But I'm willing to embrace the uncertainty over any ethical issues to process the movie and its unrelated technical /aesthetic flaws and, perhaps, equally unrelated (though less so?) good point at, as it were, face value (no pun intended). Like taking a bite of something you assume to be savory and finding it oddly sweet.

There's so much to be offended by, every day, at all possible moments...

So never stop being offended. Life is amazing like that. But please, let the squirrel continue to write movie reviews FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. It's hard enough being a squirrel who only watches TV!
