MOVIE #1,277 • 🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿 • 12.13.23 This is my first foray into the world of Hong Kong Category III films and the film I chose essentially at random begins with a meta joke about Hong Kong Category III films (after we see an 8yo child watching a hardcore porn on VHS) 😬. Then we see said kid in class and they’re doing sex education in grade school?! Where was the conservative outrage in the 90s for this kind of stuff, people! I’m joking, but I'll be honest, the premise for this is fucked up and I didn't like it. So much of the movie is tied to this prepubescent girl not just learning about sex but seeing it and exploring it. This is terribly unpleasant and wrong, even though she wishes to turn 18 and is granted the wish by a magic tree twenty minutes into the movie. She’s still 8 in her head and I mean… |
I didn’t get quite halfway through this. I’m sure there are less perverse C-3 movies to check out but I think I’m done exploring the ‘genre’ lol. It’s funny, there isn’t quite anything like this in the U.S. It’s like softcore porn except instead of being sultry and melodramatic it’s this weird mix of sick, borderline immoral framing and broad, borderline slapstick comedy. Truly truly bizarre shit, folks. Not for me! Even though what this is trying to be is right out there in the open…
