MOVIE #1,386 • 🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿 • 02.20.24
Part of the film "Lumiere and Company". For the 100 year anniversary of the Lumiere camera, forty directors made one minute film segments using an original restored Lumiere camera. The ground rules were rigidly enforced: a continuous shot to be captured in a maximum of three attempts, no artificial light sources, no sync sound, and that this shot last a maximum of 55 seconds (the length of one reel of film for the camera). Lynch's short cost around $6000 to film and involved several different location changes. He skirted the rules by using his allowed three takes to close the shutter on the camera and move to a different set, thus creating the appearance of five different locations edited together.
OK, sure, Lynch "broke the rules" for his segment of the anthlogoy picture, Lumière and Company, but you can't argue with the results! Also of note: almost all the actors (uncredited) in this have no other credits on IMDb, with one notable exception, porn actor Mark Wood, whose bio reads:
Tall, US-born pornographic actor/director Mark Wood is a veteran of the industry. His career in the adult filming genre began in 1998. Just two years into his career, he also began directing. The 6'3" veteran performer alternates well between youthful, sporty-type characters, to conservative-looking, professional office workers. With over 1500 titles in hand, Mark has secured his legacy in the adult film community and it only flourishes year after year.
