One interesting thing I’ve noticed in this early work is his intermittent edgelord tendencies: he’s not nearly the progressive woke-ass SJW that he would become later. This film begins with the intertitle “Look Mom, A Dead Black Man” before filming said guy, who’s clearly not having a good time ‘taking a nap’ on the floor of what looks like a subway station, for close to a minute. Mark focuses the camera on grimy socks and says, “hey mister dirty feet.” |
