 | MOVIE #1,632 • 🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿 • 05.13.24 MovieJeff on Motern: A FARLEY/ROXBURGH DIRECTOR FOCUS This is much better and more in line with the Motern vibe than its predecessor, Freaky Farley: multiple hilarious songs about the movies, an off-kilter but slyly brilliant plot (specifically the “faking a wedding engagement to catch a serial killer” plot), a locked-in Kevin McGee with some of his best line reads yet, and more. This is the second and final 16mm effort from the gang and that's a shame because the production is also a step up in almost every way. This was the best/my favorite Farley/Roxburgh joint to date and I'm psyched to get into the rest of the filmography now, including what many call their masterwork next time: Don't Let the Riverbeast Get You! |
