MOVIE #1,692 • 🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿 • 06.03.24 We still aren’t in “official duo territory” but damn we’re getting close. This one is about a rich guy (played by James Finlayson, who’s been in a bunch of these shorts now and is always really good/funny) who wakes up after getting blackout drunk to discover he got married the night before. He enlists his butler (Oliver) and lawyer (Stan) to help him avoid his gold-digging step-daughter and brother-in-law. You’re not gonna believe this, but in accomplishing said goal, Laurel ends up in drag, albeit this time on the shoulders of Finlayson so he looks like a super tall woman (I feel like he's been dressed as a lady in half of these films so far)... |
There’s some early camera movement in this one that’s interesting but it just ends up as a goof fest at the boardwalk attractions which ends with a pile up at the bottom of the wooden slide…
Good times.
