MOVIE #1,855 •🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿• 07.29.24 𝑀𝒶𝓇𝓉𝓎: A MARTIN SCORSESE DIRECTOR FOCUS 🇮🇹🇺🇸 This movie is a delight and probably THE preeminent entry of unheralded Scorsese pictures. It’s a subtly surrealist romp through one night in New York City in the 80s featuring pitch-perfect performances in every role (the cast is a murderer’s row of character actors and expertly cast bigger actors in smaller roles: Rosanna Arquette, Cheech & Chong, Teri Garr, John Heard, Catherine O'Hara, among others) and Griffin Dunne in the lead is every bit their equal. I have a lot of films to get through, many great ones that I’ve never seen before, but I have a sneaking suspicion this one will remain near the top of the list. I loved Marty’s punk rock Hitchcock cameo as well… |
It's the kind of film you want to immediately rewatch after it's over. If you haven't seen this one yet, check it out ASAP.
