Made on a bet for around 50K, this has become something of a cult classic in certain circles. Its repurposing of existing B-movie properties (all New World Pictures/Roger Corman productions) makes it an interesting continuation of the reappropriation in The Movie Orgy, as well. I think it’s much more of an interesting idea/premise than it is an entertaining film, however. Not sure why I couldn’t get on its wavelength because most of its elements by themselves are things I really like.

Hollywood Boulevard is a 1976 American satirical exploitation film directed by Allan Arkush and Joe Dante (in their respective directorial debuts), and starring Candice Rialson, Paul Bartel, and Mary Woronov. It follows an aspiring actress who has just arrived in Los Angeles, only to be hired by a reckless B movie film studio where she bears witness to a series of gruesome and fatal on-set accidents. The film blends elements of the comedy, thriller, and slasher film genres. It was released on February 20, 1976.
