Quiet Please

MOVIE #1,897 • 🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿 • 08.17.24

Like he did in the 80s, Joe Dante delivered multiple episodes for horror-oriented anthology TV shows in the 2000s. He directed two for the mostly forgotten Fox series Night Visions (hilariously hosted by a deadpan Henry Rollins in front of green screen — see below). Each episode of this one-and-done season featured a pair of ~20-minute stories. In “Quiet Please,” Cary Elwes attempts to escape the hustle and noise of the city for a weekend in nature. But fellow camper Brian Dennehy has other ideas. It’s all about the novelty of seeing name actors in such a random piece, as well as the twist ending, which is decent, but this is not so hot overall.
