The Hole

MOVIE #1,887 • 🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿 • 08.14.24

Following a six-year gap, Dante returned to the world of feature films with his first straight-up horror since The Howling (without a hint of comedy) and first non-genre horror film ever (I guess it IS part of the creepy doll and possessed kid sub-genres, technically speaking). It’s not great. (I wish I had a time machine so I could go back and watch this in 3D theatrically — yeah, I think that's the problem.) If you were wondering if South Park’s famous Cartman shows up in a (sorta) cameo, yes South Park’s famous Cartman makes an appearance…

RIP Cartman.

Despite its garish, over-saturated look, there’s still hints of great shots constructed (for the most part) practically…

The end is a CGI nightmare but that is less of a crime than the dragging story which fails to reel you in.
