Another week, another Chris Smith docuseries that is somehow twice as long as necessary. Look, as I’ve stated before, a lot of what you get out of these depends on your interest level of the subject matter going in. If I wasn’t religiously going through this director’s filmography, I would have never spent 4+ hours hanging out with Richard Branson (thank God for the speed settings on my Kindle’s VLC app!).

They wait until the fourth and final episode to mildly criticize him but at least it wasn’t a full-on puff piece. Smith is good at crafting these longform docs but that doesn’t negate the fact that they’re A) too long, and B) occasionally focus on things I don’t give a shit about.
