BI GAN: DIRECTOR FOCUS & FILMOGRAPHY RANKING

"Let Bi Gan be Bi Gan" is the joke I like to make. It's the kind of dumb joke that (I hope!) let's you know what you're getting here at moviejeff.com right off the bat: this damn squirrel (me) is not afraid to be silly, but he's also DEADLY serious about cinema. (I'm not sure how you would glean the second part of that from the joke, but let's move on, OK?)...

Bi Gan (毕赣, born 4 June 1989) is a Chinese film director, screenwriter, poet, and photographer. His first feature Tiger (2011) seems like it's impossible to track down. He's also responsible for Kaili Blues and Long Day's Journey into Night, both slow burns that are pretty good! (I like the latter slightly more.)

I will be trying to track down his short film work to fill in the gaps; this page will be updated at some point in time as we march towards the grave together.
