🎙️ EPISODE 280: 07.15.2020 To say nothing of this movie's treatment of women which is, frankly, abhorrent–seriously, each female character is denigrated in their own unique way based on race, class, etc.–52 Pick-Up is an otherwise enjoyable "turn your brain off" Cannon 80s romp that's amplified by an absolutely fantastic John Glover performance in the villain role. I'd say that he and his delightful Baltimorean accent were worth at least 2.5 bags of popcorn to the score all by themselves. John Glover might be best known for his deranged role as CEO Daniel Clamp in Gremlins 2: The New Batch, and it's a damn shame he wasn't featured in more movies because he's a fantastic actor. His line reads and delivery are a thing of a beauty...

Honestly, there's not much more to say about this. It's your typical Hard ℝ thriller: lots of nudity, cussin', absurd ending, you know the drill. Without Glover, it would have been completely unremarkable.
