I don’t know if George Clooney is the worst mainstream big-time filmmaker alive, but he’s probably the most boring. The only other directorial effort of his that I’ve reviewed was the abysmal Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. This is one isn’t as outwardly offensive by a longshot. It’s simply a lifeless slog. The only thing worth mentioning is that Gregory Peck’s grandson plays a younger version of Clooney and I swore to god that it was a CGI de-aging abomination and not a real actor. In fact, I was only partly correct…

When they say “more like his” I think they mean EXACTLY because that uncanney valley shit played like a bad A.I. slightly pitch-shifted version of Clooney’s voice. And while that sucks for a variety of reason, it was at least something interesting which I can’t say for the other 100+ minutes of the film. Anyway here’s Kyle Chandler playing a VR/hologram monkey game…

Felicity Jones, David Oyelowo, Tiffany Boone, Demián Bichir, Kyle Chandler, and Caoilinn Springall also star. It was released on December 11, 2020.
