 🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿 | 🎙️ EPISODE 464: 05.11.22 * review starts ~10:21 I don't know if I was expecting some major revelation from finally watching these early short films. This one in particular is more bad than good, and feels like it was written and directed by a high schooler (because it was). That being said, it ain't all bad because seeing the seeds that would become Boogie Nights is fascinating in a way. Like the more polished Coffee and Cigarettes which would blossom into Hard Eight, it's cool to see how even someone has talented as PTA could basically suck so hard at a young age. |

The Dirk Diggler Story is a 1988 mockumentary short film written and directed by Paul Thomas Anderson. It follows the rise and fall of Dirk Diggler, a well-endowed male porn star. The character was modeled on American porn actor John Holmes. The film was later expanded into Anderson's 1997 film Boogie Nights. It was released on April 1, 1988.
