🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿 | 🎙️ EPISODE 554: 09.14.22 Another randomly chosen selection from my Letterboxd watchlist. This is a gorgeous black and white proto folk horror directed by the guy (Brunello Rondi) most famous for his screenwriting on Fellini's pictures. It also had to have been a direct influence on Friedkin's The Exorcist, given the appearance of not just a demon-possessed girl but a spider-walking demon-possessed girl (see below). Look, sometimes you end up watching two Italian horror films in a row (see yesterday's The Church review) and the second one, well, ya just don't have all that much to write about. I generally liked it a good amount and thought the equisite landscapes also looked amazing in the stark grayscale. (See below as well). |
