🎙️ EPISODE 701: 04.18.23

Registering a solid to high-5 on the official Moviejeff.com Rating System, and thus narrowly avoiding the dreaded Lucy Line, Greta, helmed by the writer-director of The Crying Game is a frustratingly one-note psychological thriller that about a NYC stalker situation that works (barely) because of the solid performances of Isabelle Huppert, Chloë Grace Moretz, and It Follows' Maika Monroe. The film dares to ask the question, why do two young twenty-somethings living in the Big Apple have a landline AND a voicemail machine? I kept waiting for a secondary twist after Huppert's titular Greta goes psycho in the first act, but there isn't one. It's a fairly forgettable movie but not a horrible one.
