 | MOVIE #1,403 • 🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿 • 02.27.24 Today on my T/TH David Lynch short film series, we begin the descent into the world of his davidlynch.com era. Much of these web subscription offerings are either crude, lo-fi or very short, if not all three at once. It was 2001 and the country needed to heal from the pain of 9/11 (nevermind that this came out in August). Lynch and his website was actually a forbearer of Patreon in a way: offering ‘content’ for monthly price directly to the fans. Pierre & Sonny Jim is a lil movie featuring two cartoonish characters with blown-up rubber gloves with faces drawn on for heads. It's 3½ minutes long and, brace yourself, very odd. We hear hideous barnyard noises and farting sounds as their heads bobble around and then it ends with Sonny Jim's (or maybe Pierre’s) head falling off. 9/10 |
