MOVIE #1,378 • 🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿 • 02.16.24 A mentally challenged samurai purchases a presumably dull sword. There's no sound and very few intertitles in this 4-minute short animation from 1917 Japan, but it's a fun little artifact. The animation style is choppy but is otherwise rendered in a cartoonish way that looks timeless. The logline is very funny: “ a samurai buys a dull sword from a merchant. He's quickly defeated by his intended victims due to his cheap sort and clumsiness.” 7/10 |
