MOVIE #1,522 • 🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿 • 04.08.24 Another 1920s Fred Guiol-directed silent comedy short, gags include: getting your top hat stuck to a painter's palette, getting a stool stuck to your top hat (and having your top hat ripped in half when you exit the room because of it)... you know, top hat humor. Laurel is the paint delivery man tasked with having an affair with the woman of the house to make her husband jealous and Hardy is the butler who is summoned to make him look presentable. It's mostly the men who do the slipping, honestly. There’s a lot of confusion re who’s who. And I’m getting the idea that people 100 years ago weren’t really the brightest bulbs, to be honest. |
