🎆ANGER D.F.🎆

This one I definitely watched at a Rutgers film class, though it was the 1979 version, which features a loop of A Raincoat's "It Came In The Night" (a total banger) as its soundtrack, instead of the 50s/60s pop medley of the ‘71 iteration. Anger actually filmed this in 1950 but sat on it for two decades, as one does. For this viewing, I watched the longer 1971 movie. It's an interesting contrast in the sense that he was so concerned with tinkering with this for close to thirty years. The slower oldies-driven version is naturally more contemplative and less manic. Both (here and here) are worth seeing.

Rabbit's Moon is an avant-garde short film by American filmmaker Kenneth Anger. Filmed in 1950, Rabbit's Moon was not completed (nor did it see release) until 1971. Anger re-released the film in 1979, sped up and with a different soundtrack. It was released on July 18, 1971 .
