This sucked me in — what can I say? Smith clearly has a knack for constructing these docuseries crime narratives. The drone footage/other high-quality b-roll, subtle reenactments, screenshot animations, ominous music, an actor portraying a fictional IT guy: to what end all of this is cover for a story that isn't nearly as interesting seems almost immaterial. We must consume the content. And this is the very definition of ‘content’. I do give this one props for not overstaying its welcome. There’s minimal run-time padding — the same can’t be said for his prior foray, The Disappearance of Madeleine McCann.
