SERIES: JACK SHOLDER DIRECTOR FOCUS (FILL-IN/ADDN)

Just had (“had”) to watch the original before tackling the next Jack Sholder made-for-TV movie, which is a sequel to this made-for-TV movie. This one — also helmed for the small screen — has an interesting pedigree and cast. It was directed by the Greek Phedon Papamichael who is far better known for his work as a cinematographer (Cool Runnings, Bio-Dome, Sideways, Ford v Ferrari, the most recent Indiana Jones). It stars B-movie legend Jeff Fahey, Sean Young and a teenage wilderness period Drew Barrymore. Character actors du jour Frank McRae and James Tolkan round out the cast. This aired on Showtime and has slightly elevated Skinemax overtones and impeccable 1992 vibes. It’s also boring as hell.
