SERIES: JEAN-LUC GODARD DIRECTOR FOCUS
Contempt, better known by its American title "Brigitte Bardot's Bare Ass," is the polarizing sixth French New Wave entry from the master Godard that (predictably) befuddled some of the normcore critics (Ebert: "[it] is not one of the great Godard films, for reasons it makes clear" {???}) and wowed some of the cooler ones (Rosenbaum: "Masterpiece... every bit as transgressive now as it was when it first appeared, and maybe more so").
It's influence can be seen far and wide...

This is one I feel like I need to rewatch to truly get. Look, it's the holidays and I'm struggling to wrap things up so I'm just gonna leave it at that for now.
