🍿 | 🎙️ EPISODE 609: 11.30.22 I rarely don't finish films but shut this one off about 3/4's of the way through after finally giving up the urge to look at my phone. This is a hot mess, through and through. The worst type of WEIRD, quirky for the sake of being quirky, in love with its dumb self to an almost impossible degree. In the podcast, I compared it to Greener Grass, a film I was almost definitely too hard on in retrospect and never, ever takes itself so seriously. The biggest crime here is that Knives and Skin doesn't have a shred of humor, and so it relies fully on its vibe and aesthetic (because the plot is a nonstarter, a complete afterthought).
